Privacy Policy

Simfly Companion ("the app", "we", "us") is an independent, unofficial companion app for the Simfly mobile game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Simfly or its developers.
This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Simfly username and account ID. You enter your Simfly username to add an account. The associated numeric ID is retrieved from the Simfly API. Both are stored locally on your device and sent to the Simfly API solely to fetch your game data.
Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymised events such as screen views and feature interactions (e.g. switching tabs, refreshing earnings). Events may include aggregate counts (e.g. number of accounts) but do not include personally identifiable information.
- Crash reports. We use Google Firebase Crashlytics to automatically record crash reports and non-fatal errors. Reports may include device model, iOS version, app version, and app state at the time of the crash (e.g. active tab, account count). Usernames and game IDs are not included in crash reports.
- Firebase Installation ID. Firebase automatically assigns a random installation identifier to your device. This is used internally by Firebase and is not linked to your identity by us.
Information we do not collect
- Real name, email address, phone number, or any contact information
- Precise or approximate device location (GPS)
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Payment or financial information
- Health or fitness data
- Photos, contacts, calendar, or microphone access
2. How We Use Your Information
- To retrieve your game stats, flights, assets, and earnings from the Simfly API and display them in the app.
- To send you local notifications about earnings syncs, only if you grant permission.
- To understand how the app is used so we can fix bugs and improve features.
- To diagnose and resolve crashes and errors.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. The only third parties that receive data from the app are:
- Simfly (simfly.io) — your username and account ID are sent to the Simfly API to retrieve your game data. This data is subject to Simfly's own privacy policy.
- Google Firebase (Google LLC) — anonymised analytics events and crash reports are sent to Firebase. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy. Firebase may store data on servers outside your country of residence.
No data is shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.
4. Data Storage and Retention
Your Simfly account credentials (username and numeric ID), friends list, filter preferences, goal projections, and notification settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. This data is not uploaded to any server we control and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
Analytics and crash report data is retained by Google Firebase according to Google's data retention policies (typically 2 months for analytics data and 90 days for crash data). You can request deletion of Firebase data by contacting us at the address below.
5. Push Notifications
The app may request permission to send you local notifications when an earnings sync completes. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings → Simfly Companion → Notifications. We do not send marketing or promotional notifications.
6. Children's Privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access and portability — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected.
- Deletion — request that your data be deleted. You can remove your account from the app at any time, which immediately deletes all locally stored data for that account. To request deletion of any analytics or crash data held by Firebase, contact us at the address below.
- Opt-out of analytics — uninstall the app to stop all data collection.
- California residents (CCPA) — you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
- EEA/UK residents (GDPR) — you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security
All communication between the app and the Simfly API and Firebase is encrypted via HTTPS. Local data is stored using standard iOS mechanisms and protected by the device's built-in security (passcode, Face ID / Touch ID). We do not store passwords or payment information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
